Description of the projects or programmes (Goals, Objectives, Major activities, etc.)

The Cambodian War Amputees Rehabilitation Society (CWARS) is a non-profit, denominational humanitarian aid programme concerned with the survivors of anti-personnel landmine incidents and the livelihood of the poorest of the poor in remote areas of Cambodia. Following are CW ARS Programmes:

  1. Vocational Skill Training (Basic Agriculture, Barbering, Battery Reconditioning, BicycleRepair, Blacksmithing, Electrical Appliances, Lady Hairdressing, Motorcycle Repair, Pump & Small Engine Repair, Sewing & Tailoring, TV & Radio Repair), we provide adequate skill for Income Generation to landmine victims and other disabled people, who will later become self employed operating their own micro- enterprise in their home community that answer to the market demand in the region.
  2. Credit Loan is being developed exclusively to assist the landmine victims and other disabled people who graduated from CWARS Vocational Training Centre to be currently working in their micro-enterprises and also to assist those who are facing difficulty or have no chance in obtaining capital in order to improve their businesses.
  3. Follow-Up, CWARS Outreach Officers have the schedule to go along with graduates to assist them for setting-up their own workshop and to make sure that they use the correct skills learn at CWARS Vocational Training Centre.
  4. Prosthetics Upgrading is to assist the disabled people who cannot afford to pay for their transportations to go to hospital or clinic for receiving prostheses, wheelchairs, crutches, wound treatment, and corrective surgery.
