Current DAC activities

The Disability Action Council aims to deliver its mission through a variety of vehicles-they include
  • Program committees: made up of DAC members - they focus on a specific area of activity - for example children with disabilities
  • Working Groups: are time limited and address specific issues/ problems
  • Member Information Development - facilitated by DAC - the aim an to provide information to the membership on disability issues and on DAC activity.
  • Publications: DAC produces a range of publications - they include
  1. A Quarterly Newsletter
  2. A Annual Report
  3. DAC Briefing Papers
  4. Information Brochure
  • Training Activities: DAC supports many organizations with disability training
  • Presentations/ attendance: at conferences/ seminars: DAC staff when requested present papers on disability issues.
  • Liaison Activity - Establishing links with private/public and voluntary bodies is an essential component of the networking undertaken by DAC. Linking with Government Agencies is especially important.
