The Law on the Protection and the Promotion of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities was officially signed by His Majesty the King

The Law of the Protection and the Promotion of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities was adopted by the National Assembly on May 29, 2009 and officially signed by His Majesty the King Samdech Preah Baromneath Norodom Sihamoni on July 3, 2009.

The goal of this law is to protect and promote the rights of persons with disabilities within the Kingdom of Cambodia.

The purposes of this law are; to protect the rights and freedoms of persons with disabilities, to protect in the interests of persons with disabilities, to prevent, reduce and eliminate discrimination against persons with disabilities and to rehabilitate physical, mentally and vocationally in order to ensure that persons with disabilities are able to participate fully and equally in activities within society.
