Disability Action Council (DAC) comprises representatives from government, national and international organizations and organization representing person with disabilities, the primary function of the DAC-Secretariat is to support these organisations while facilitating and coordinating a range of service delivery activity.

Disability Action Council (DAC) conducted a strategic review in 2005 which resulted in the production of the 2005-2008 strategic plan and subsequent Action Plans.

Disability Action Council (DAC) has a Vision and developed the Mission statement. They are

With its Mission DAC has identified 3 priorities:
  • Developing the social, legislative, and educational infrastructure required to meet the needs of people with disabilities and promoting mainstreaming of disability;
  • Developing the capacity and effectiveness of all institutions operating in the disability sector;
  • Developing the knowledge base of all disability stakeholder in Cambodia

The Consultative Workshop on Disability and Development Policies: Production of a Statement on Disability Sector

Consultative Workshop on Disability and Development participantIt was noted that the National Strategic Development Plan (2006-2010) is made little reference to disability issues, persons with disabilities and their organizations. In addition, the persons with disabilities themselves have not fully been aware of NSDP and thus they have not fully participated in the NSDP process.
