Chritoffel Blind Mission International Provides Medical Rehabilitation Equipment and Financial Support to MOH

On the 7th August 2001, a ceremony was held in order to hand-over office equipment to the Department of Health Prevention within the Ministry of Health (MOH), Phnom Penh, Cambodia. This equipment was donated by the Christoffel Blind Mission (CBM) International via the Disability Action Council (DAC).

The ceremony is presided over by honorable guests H.E. Mam Bun Heng, Secretary of State of MOH; H.E. Ms. Prak Chantha, Secretary of State of MOSALVY and Chairwoman of the DAC; Ms. Helen Pitt, Advisor to DAC; Mr. Ouk Sisovann, Executive Director of the DAC; and Dr. Prak Piseth Raing Sey, Director of Health Prevention Department. The MOH and MOSALVY, particularly the Department of Health Prevention were highly appreciated and expressed their sincere thanks to CBM International for such donations.

CBM International will also provide financial support for three years to the Department of Health Prevention. This support will enable MOH to enhance the medical rehabilitation sector. These funds have been secured by DAC to establish an office within the MOH, to provide supplemental salaries for 3 government staff; 2 doctors from the MOH (Department of Preventive Medicine) and one staff member from MOSALVY (Department of Rehabilitation). In addition, an expatriate, Ms Liz Cross will be seconded to the DAC to work in this area. In addition, funds have been allocated to purchase a vehicle and other office equipment for use of this project.
