July 06-09, 2009 The First CBR Project Established in Kep Province
The First CBR Project was established, and the open ceremony presided over, by Mr. Lao Veng, Director of Rehabilitation Department of MoSVY in Kep Province on July 6, 2009. Based on the field survey visiting made in 2007, it was discovered that there is no NGO working on disability or CBR in Kep province.
Thus, the national coordination team searched to find an NGO which can extend its project to the province. Fortunately, CABDICO was recommended, under financial support from AusAID, for this new project. A survey found that there are about 500 persons with disabilities living in this province. There were 150 participants joined the opening ceremony of the new project, including 15 permanent and part-time staff (local authority officers) of CABDICO who had been trained on CBR by the national CBR coordination team.
