July 20-30, 2009 Training on Strengthening CBR and SHG for Persons with Disabilities in Bangkok, Thailand
The international training on strengthening CBR and SHG for Persons with Disabilities was organized APCD Asia-Pacific Development Center on Disability (APCD) in Bangkok, Thailand on July 20-30, 2009.
The participants for the training were from Cambodia (DAC, ABC Epic Art-Polio-walkable), Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines and Pakistan.
The training aimed to strengthen an existing planned CBR program in developing countries in Asia Pacific in order to; to share common fundamental values in CBR/ SHG, to understand a comprehensive approach to CBR/ SHG, to equip them with practical methods for enhancing community participation in CBR/ SHG, and to develop strategies according to the situation and needs in respective countries.
