The Phnom Penh Center for Independent Living (PPCIL), which is a Cambodian NGO, aims helping and adjusting people with disabilities to live with appropriate and good conditions, promoting their own abilities, accepting their decision-making on independent living with dignity and declaring all demands for taking part in any social developing activities and approaches without discrimination.
PPCIL is now seeking a qualified Cambodian national to fill the position of Program Officer (3 positions), based in Phnom Penh but occasionally travel to province.
Main Scopes of Work
- Conduct training on disabilities and social awareness program in the community
- Participate with partners to advocate disability concepts into school curriculum
- Provide peer-counseling to young people with disabilities in community
- Assist in managing activities at the PPCIL
- Participate with team members for quarter and annual planning
- Participate with review/evaluation project activities
- Foster relationships with PPCIL internal stakeholders
- Other tasks assigned by the programme manager when needed
Personal Requirements
- Qualified women with disability are strongly encouraged to apply
- Experience working with disability people in a Community
- Facilitation skill
- Peer-Counseling experience, preferably in the field of disability encourage
- Ability to communicate and coordinate with partners
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills with experience drafting reports in Khmer
- Good personality
- Strong commitment and being patient with works
- Hard working, innovative and likes to show initiative
- Willing to learn from works
- Team work
