Mainstreaming and Public Relations Unit
The Unit works with relevant government ministries and stakeholders to ensure a more inclusive approach to societal development through disability awareness raising, lobbying and advocating policy makers to include disability issues into development plans at all levels.Objective
- To provide technical advice and coordination support to relevant ministries and other stakeholders in order to promote the inclusion of disability into the National Strategic Development Plan (NSDP), sectoral plans, policies and other development plans
- To develop national disability mainstreaming guidelines and national accessibility guidelines
- To strengthen and extend networks with government ministries, I/NGOs, DPOs, development partners, non-disability sector and international partners
- To organize national forums in order to share best practices, challenges, lessons learned regarding to disability mainstreaming
- To bring forward the common challenges, lessons learned and formulated recommendations to NDCC for decision making
- To provide technical support to NDCC in order to promote disability mainstreaming into development plans of relevant ministries
- To organize the annual national conference on disability and development to provide cross-sectoral updates and vital information in order to identify challenges and set direction of the coming year
