4. Public Awareness

Strategic Plan

GOAL

Community, society and individuals are aware of and have better understanding about the rights, obligations and potential of people with disabilities, and they are offered opportunities rather than obstacles to their full participation in all social aspects of their lives.

OBJECTIVES
  1. To promote the knowledge and understanding of disability issues in such areas as:
    - abilities of persons with disabilities
    - needs of persons with disabilities
    - rights of persons with disabilities
  2. To encourage positive images of disabled persons in public and to discourage negative images.
  3. To enhance national capacity for improving public awareness on disability and persons with disabilities.
